Spaces for Granite Springs Farm’s 2018 season are limited as we’re scaling back production in order to scale up our quality of life. A sustainable farm isn’t really sustainable unless the farmers are living a balanced life. So this year we’re offering about half the number of shares as in previous years. We’ll close registration when we’re fully enrolled, which could come before the end of January this year, so don’t delay if our CSA is very important to you.

The 2018 CSA is split into three sessions for a total of 27 weeks of delicious seasonal vegetables. The Spring Session is 12 weeks; the Summer Session is 4 weeks; and the Fall Session is 11 weeks. Members can join one, two, or all three sessions, and pay for them separately or all at once. There is an Early Bird discount for members who join all three sessions and pay for them in full before January 31st, 2018! More details about pick up options can be found here.

This year there is only one share size. In previous years this was called a Regular Share. Most couples and small families who prepare 2-3 (or more) meals at home each week find this share size meets their needs. Larger families or couples who cook a lot may need two shares. Many singles who prepare most of their own meals at home find this share size also works for them. We’re sorry to discontinue the Individual Share, but needed to make this decision to make the CSA sustainable for us.

The other big change for 2018, and the one we most wrestled with, is that we’re no longer making Sunday deliveries. We know this will mean losing some of our most faithful supporters, and we feel sad about that. We hope that some of our Sunday flock will switch to Wednesday delivery. We believe in the importance of keeping Sabbath and are committed to more fully living into this commandment in 2018.
