Know Your Food!

We at Granite Springs Farm believe the health of a community begins with the health of each individual. One aspect of our holistic health is the food we put into our bodies. GSF strives to provide high-quality, chemical-free, straight-from-the-earth vegetables in order to feed our neighbors thereby shortening the distance our food travels and protecting our Earth along the way.

Don’t let an unfamiliar vegetable stop you from trying it! See the list below for information on the plant, what parts you can eat, and how to prepare it.

Some of the information below comes from the cookbook “From Asparagus to Zucchini: A Guide to Cooking Farm-fresh Seasonal Produce” compiled by Madison (Wisconsin) Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition. Here’s a link to their website where you can purchase the book.
