The GSF farmshare is enough vegetables for 1-4 people, depending how many meals they eat at home. For example, a single person who eats at least 5 meals a week prepared at home can generally use all the vegetables in the bag each week. A family of 4, who eat 2 meals at home, can use the contents of the bag in a week. The share isn’t intended to supply all the vegetables for a family who regularly eat most of their meals at home, but will be a great start!

Contents of the CSA Bags

We strive for a good mixture of seasonal vegetables. The availability of items shifts through the seasons. Some of the items include:

Peppers of all sorts in October/November, Sweet Potatoes, Winter Squashes, Pumpkins, Melons, Head Lettuces, Salad mix, Arugula, Asian Braising Greens, Bok Choy, Microgreens, including Sunflower shoots, Broccoli micros, Pea Shoots, Radish micros, Baby Ginger, Turmeric, Garlic, Spinach, Kale, Chard, Scallions, Leeks, Carrots, Beets, Oyster Mushrooms, Broccoli, Cabbage, Radishes, Rutabagas, Salad Turnips and Collards. We’re trialing some new crops in 2023, so this list will likely include a few fun additions!

Schedule

The 2022-2023 CSA Season has 18 scheduled pick ups and begins the first full week of October 2023 (Oct. 4th and 5th), and goes into May 2024. The October, November, and December pick ups will be weekly, skipping Thanksgiving week and going until December 13th/14th. The January, February and March pick ups will be monthly. There will be two deliveries in April, and the final 3 deliveries will be in May. Exact dates for 2024 will be determined and publicized in December 2023. In times when we have an abundance of produce, we’ll open our online store and give CSA members priority for a la carte ordering. These purchases are separate from the CSA and can be picked up at our Farmers Markets and CSA drop locations. Reserve your favorites before coming to market!

Pick Up Sites And Days

Wednesday pick ups are in Chapel Hill at Church of the Holy Family at 200 Hayes Rd. The bags will be delivered to the screened porch of the Parish House at 4:30 pm and members can swing by any time to get their bags.

Thursday pick ups are at the Pittsboro Farmers Market located at The Plant at 220 Lorax Lane, Pittsboro from 3-6 pm.
