Granite Springs Farm & Community is having a workday and potluck lunch on Labor Day, Monday September 3rd. We’ll begin working at 9 am and will break for a potluck on the porch around noon. Those who want to work more after lunch are welcome to do so, and those who want to relax on the porch into the afternoon are welcome to do that! This event will happen “rain or shine.” We’ve got some indoor (basement and hoop house) jobs we can do if it rains, but if it’s real wet, the event will be mostly social. If the storms avoid us, we’ll be weeding and planting and putting out some landscape fabric and perhaps a bit of harvesting. We’ll also have a crew using chainsaws (bring yours if you have one) and the log splitter to split wood. So, please join us for whatever part of the day you can. Bring your water bottle, work gloves, favorite garden tools and something to share for lunch, if you can. All are welcome, but please leave your dogs at home because they scare our chickens!
