Fun Events at GSF in August!

We’ve scheduled some fun social events for the month of August, and they’re open to everyone! This Saturday, August 1st we have a movie night that’s suitable for all ages. After conducting a poll, we decided to show The Lego Movie which adults and kids of all ages will love (rated G).   We’ll gather at 6:30 pm and start the movie at 7 pm and since we’ll be projecting it onto the wall of the great room in the community house, the show will go on, rain or shine! Our second movie night will be on Saturday, August 23rd when we’ll show Wanderlust. This one’s rated R, so not appropriate for the kiddies, but by many accounts hilarious for adults. It pokes fun at intentional communities, so we’re sure to enjoy it. For that one we’ll gather at 7:30 pm and start the film at 8 pm. For both movies BYOB and a snack to share if possible. We’ll pop the popcorn. These are free movies, by the way!

While we’re talking movies, stay tuned for an announcement for the date of a fall screening of Bringing It Home, the movie by our local filmmaker Linda Brooks about industrial hemp. We’ll have Linda at that one to answer all our questions about hemp, and the progress being made to bring this industry back to the U.S.

Our third event will be another house concert in our Front Porch Music series on Sunday, August 31st.  This one will begin with a potluck at 6:30 pm and the concert at 8 pm by Daniel Chambo. This will be a beautiful outdoor evening under the stars for all ages. More details on that soon!
