What’s In The Bag, Tuesday, July 31

Today wraps up the 7th week of the Summer CSA with just 1 more week to go! We’re well into preparations for the fall, packing the greenhouse with germinating seeds of winter squashes and hardy greens. With the heat still scaling into the 90’s it is difficult to imagine harvesting butternut squashes and kale (I associate the two with warm socks and plaid flannel).

Our oyster mushroom endeavor is budding nicely as well! For the first time last Saturday, we brought a few handfuls of mushrooms to the Chatham Mills Farmers Market! You can expect to see oyster mushrooms in your CSA bags this fall.

The Fall CSA begins at the very end of September or first thing in October, depending on your pick-up day. It’s not too late to sign up! Go to our CSA page for more details about pick-up locations, schedules, and pricing.

And don’t forget we’re also at the Chapel Hill Farmers Market Tuesday afternoons from 3pm-6pm. You can find us in the parking lot of University Mall behind A Southern Season.

See you there!
