The Spring CSA is now complete with a week break before the Summer CSA begins June 16. But that doesn’t slow us down! New plantings, abundant harvests, and projects poppin’ up left and right, Granite Springs Farm always has plenty going on.

GSF will be hosting an informational gathering and walk-about to share our vision for an agrarian, residential community developing on the property of Granite Springs Farm. Please visit “The Community” page and join us Monday, June 18 at 6:30pm. We are located at 266 Granite Springs, 6 miles north of Pittsboro, NC off of highway 87.
We’re Growing Mushrooms!
Jennie worked hard last week pasteurizing, inoculating and stuffing bags with straw that will soon produce little oyster mushrooms! Stay tuned for updates as we all anxiously await the results!
One of our hens, Flo Jo, was named after the 80’s Olympic runner Florence Griffith Joyner after witnessing her make daily sprints from the egg mobile up to the house to lay an egg. But recently Flo Jo successfully accumulated a number of eggs before we got to them first. Now she has stubbornly decided she’s not going anywhere until she hatches a few baby Flo Jo’s of her own. We’ve set up her own food and water supply and are making preparations for potential baby chicks at the end of the month!
