What’s Growing On at GSF?

It’s tater plantin’ time! Join us this Sunday, March 16th at 2 pm to do what needs doing to get the spuds in the ground. Weather-willing, we may also put some onions in, and whatever else needs doing. No experience necessary! Humans of all ages are invited to come, but please leave the canines at home as we have some new fur people and feather people who are acclimating to life on the farm. Bring  gardening tools–especially wheelbarrows, hoes, and garden gloves if you have them. Wear some shoes that can get mucky cause we’re likely to still be a bit soggy out here. If it rains,  we’ll have some tasks we can do in the High Tunnel or under cover.

At 5 pm we’ll put away the tools and share a potluck together. Bring your favorite dish to share as you are able.

The event “officially” ends at 6 pm, but interested folks can stick around for a farm tour. Also, our newest resident farmer and yoga instructor (among other skills), Katie Serino, is going to begin offering yoga at Granite Springs on Sunday evenings, so if you want to join in and have a mat, toss that in your car too and she’ll help you work out the kinks from the workday! Come for whatever part of the day you are able.

Our second upcoming event is highlighted over on the Community Page and is our 3rd

Monday of the Month Open Meeting for those interested in learning about life lived in community, and especially the one we’re co-creating at Granite Springs. This month we have special guests Greg and Michael of Rising Earth Natural Building who will be telling us about natural building techniques. The evening begins at 6:30 pm with yet another potluck (get the idea we love to eat around here?) and the special natural building presentation will be at 8 pm. We finish up at 9 pm.

Hope to see you soon on the farm. Additional upcoming events can be found at the bottom of our homepage!
